PETA Rolls Out Ad Campaign With Rapper Jay Sean

Hot new British rapper Jay Sean's single "I'm All Yours"  featuring Pitbull,  just hit US airwaves.  While the song is creating quite a buzz, Sean's PETA campaign featuring a rescued mutt named Stella is the topic of discussion via domestic music magazines and websites.  The ad, which was shot by top celebrity photography team JSquared, Sean stands protectively next to Stella and stares down the camera above the words, "Adopt—Don't Buy."

As Sean explained in an exclusive PETA interview, "There's always a kid who wants to get a puppy or get a little kitten, and they might not know that… they can go to a shelter to adopt one rather than going to a store to buy one, because they're just as cute and they're looking for a home. They want love, too."

Approximately 6 to 8 million dogs and cats enter U.S. animal shelters every year, and half of them must be euthanized simply because there aren't enough good homes for them. The less fortunate never even make it to a safe haven—they are left to fend for themselves on the streets, where they are often subjected to abuse by cruel people or succumb to starvation, disease, or injuries. Buying an animal from a pet store or a breeder robs a homeless animal of his or her chance at finding a good home.

Jay Sean joins a long list of musicians—including Waka Flocka FlameP!nkJustin BieberTravie McCoyRyan TedderMark Ronson, and Sean Kingston—who have teamed up with PETA to promote kindness to animals.
