Swarovski Teams Up With Costume Designer Eric Daman

The authority on all things fashion jewelry, Swarovski is teaming up with Eric Daman, one of the most influential costume designers, to create "The Daman Chronicles," a reality web series.  "The Daman Chronicles" follows Eric in his life as he gallivants around New York City prepping for a shoot, researching for upcoming television seasons and meeting with his influential friends. The web series will be exclusively distributed on Cambio, a leading online entertainment platform for teens and young adults, this summer with the first episode premiering June 19 following a live-streamed kickoff event at Swarovski's Lincoln Road boutique in Miami

"We are thrilled long-time friend of the brand, Eric Daman, is starring in Swarovski's original content," says Livia Marotta, Director of Communications for Swarovski CGB NA. "Like Swarovski, Eric is very adept at bringing luxury aesthetics to the mainstream, which is what we are aiming to do with this entertaining and engaging web series and interactive program."

Leading up to "The Daman Chronicles" premiere, Swarovski and Cambio are inviting users to tap into their own costume design abilities through participating in the Dress as your Favorite "Gossip Girl" contest.  Fashion fans simply upload photos of themselves dressed as their favorite "Gossip Girl" characters to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #swarovskistyle.  The best interpretation of a character's overall look according to Eric Daman will win the Rocket Necklace from Swarovski's summer jewelry collection, Seasons One through Four of "Gossip Girl" on DVD and social media notoriety.

"I am privileged to have partnered with Swarovski, a brand that is constantly innovating ways to engage young people through producing relatable content for platforms that teens and young adults interact with daily," says Eric Daman.  "I am so excited that thanks to Swarovski I'm finally able to bring my fans a real-life glimpse of a career in costume design through 'The Daman Chronicles,' and ask budding designers, stylists and fashion enthusiasts for their interpretation of signature 'Gossip Girl' looks."

In 1895, Daniel Swarovski, a Bohemian inventor and visionary, moved to the village of Wattens, Tyrol in Austria, with his newly-invented machine for cutting and polishing crystal jewelry stones. From this beginning that revolutionized the fashion world, Swarovski has grown to be the world's leading producer of precision-cut crystal for fashion, jewelry and more recently lighting, architecture and interiors. Today, the company, still family-owned and run by 4th and 5th generation family members, has a global reach with some 23,000 employees, a presence in over 120 countries and a turnover in 2010 of 2.06 billion Euros.  Swarovski comprises two major businesses, one producing and selling loose elements to the industry and the other creating design-driven finished products. Swarovski crystals have become an essential ingredient of international design.

Since 1965 the company has also catered to the fine jewelry industry with precision-cut genuine and created gemstones. Showing the creativity that lies at the heart of the company, Swarovski's own brand lines of accessories, jewelry and home decor items are sold through more than 1,900 retail outlets worldwide. The Swarovski Crystal Society has close to 325,000 members across the world, keen collectors of the celebrated crystal figurines. And in Wattens, Swarovski Kristallwelten, the multi-media crystal museum, was opened in 1995 as a celebration of Swarovski's universe of innovation and inspiration.
